Make culture GST exempt

There are many people attending the summit who will have specific and interesting suggestions on how to structure arts funding. Aside from a number of administrators and artistic directors and other well-placed bods, they include people like Cathy Hunt, co-author of the recent Currency House discussion paper, A Sustainable Arts Sector: What Will It Take?, which is a good place to start for anyone interested in this issue.

I have one suggestion to throw into the mix.

All cultural organisations ought to be exempted from paying GST. In particular, books ought to be exempt.
